Solis is an award-winning brand of inverters designed and made in China by Ginlong Technologies, one of the world’s largest solar inverter manufacturers.
Ginlong is a multi-billion dollar company with offices in over 20 countries. It is publicly listed and ranks as one of the top three inverter manufacturers in China.
Ginlong Technologies manufactures the Solis inverters in its own purpose-built manufacturing facility in order to maintain complete control over product quality. Solis inverters have been awarded the title of ‘Top Inverter Brand’ by the photovoltaic authority research organisation ‘EuPD’ for four consecutive years -2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. They have been used in high profile installations around the world including the Shanghai Expo and the Eiffel Tower.
- Solis inverters have been available in Australia for over 10 years.
One reason for the success of the Solis inverters in Australia is that they are designed to operate effectively in extreme weather conditions. They have a rated operating range of between -25 to 60 degrees Celsius, as well as in-built temperature protection and cooling.
Solis’s Australian office – based in Cheltenham, Victoria – provides responsive customer support and fast turnaround times. Due to the company’s focus on product quality, Solis inverters have a very low failure rate.
Is a global provider of power and thermal management solutions and a major player in several product segments such as industrial automation, displays, and networking. As an energy-saving solutions provider with core competencies in power electronics and innovative research and development, Delta’s business domains include Power Electronics, Automation, and Infrastructure. Throughout its history, Delta has received many global awards and recognition for its business achievements, innovative technologies and dedication to corporate social responsibility. Since 2011, Delta has been listed on the DJSI World Index of Dow Jones Sustainability™ Indices for 8 consecutive years.
Delta solar inverters achieve a peak efficiency of up to 99.2 % and offer one of the largest operating temperature ranges available. Full output up to 50 °C ambient temperature to maximise energy efficiency and ensure maximum profitability.
Some of the advanced characteristics include anti-PID (Potential Induced Degradation) to help protect solar module cells from degrading performance, nighttime reactive power and replaceable Type 1 & 2 SPDs. Delta M70A inverters provide I-V curve measurement points on each individual string for creating graphs from this data.
The aluminium housing of Delta solar inverters ensure long lasting protection against moisture and corrosion. The dust-proof, completely shockproof housing protects the electronics of the solar inverter from water spray from all directions. This means that it can be installed in protected outdoor areas, damp basements and areas with a high level of dust (agriculture).
Delta inverters have a very long lifetime thanks to the durable aluminum housing and high quality robust electronics that are employed in their design. Continuous product improvement is ensured due to comprehensive testing during product development and in production.

FRONIUS is a European Inverter Manufacturer from Austria, Fronius as a company was originally established in 1948 with their inverters being widely used in Australia.
Despite being amongst the noisier inverters available due to internal and external fans for cooling they are regarded as a top Inverter brand. The Fronius Solar Inverter is a great product and is used extensively in residential and commercial applications in Australia since 2010.
About the Company
Fronius are an Austrian company who are regarded as one of the top inverter manufacturers in the world. With more than half a million inverters installed in Australia, as a premium option this is the way to go. Fronius Inverters are recognised as providing high performance but to note are also noisy at 65 decibels maximum. As long as the inverter is positioned away from living areas this should not be a problem.
If you are looking for a high-end solar power System then Fronius will be one of the brands you are looking at.
Where Fronius does fall a bit short is cost and noise otherwise a premium highly reliable, highly effective inverter with low failure rates.
SMA – Our recommended Premium option and is the #1 European inverter manufacturer and comes in marginally more efficient and quieter than Fronius inverters. SMA are the big granddaddy of inverter manufacturers. Founded way back in 1981, the company is based in Germany, turns over billions and employs around 5000 people. Officially the second largest supplier of Inverters worldwide just behind Huawei.
SMA solar inverters were originally only produced in German factories, but the firm went through a period in 2017-2018 where they manufactured their single-phase “Sunny boy” inverters, which are used in home solar solar installations, in China. Then in December 2018, the company announced it intended to move manufacturing out of China. Subsequently all inverter manufacturer is from their German facility.
Regardless of country of manufacture, if you want a safe bet, you can’t go wrong with an SMA inverter. The only downside is that you tend to pay a premium for them.
